Well hello. This is my very first entry of my blog. I would’ve liked to rant on about myself but it’s not about me. It’s about the people who have come up with this exceptional ad. The first time I glimpsed this ad was on my way out of cape towns’ international airport. I had to stop in my tracks and study the very interesting billboard before me.
I was captured by its simple yet intriguing imagery. The use of handwritten words to illustrate a dual between two fencers is at first attention grabbing. Once the ad has your attention, you realize that there is a strong metaphor within in it.
The battle of the fencers and the war within a courtroom. One of the fencers is clearly on the front foot striking the one on the back foot. Putting a very clear image in your head that Webber Wentzel Attorneys think on their feet. I feel the 3rd base level of thinking permeating though it.
The single mindedness of the ad is very effective yet you get taken in by the part of your brain that Reponses to violence. You want to engage in it and take it all in.
From a strategic point of view it is very well executed. The ad exemplifies Webber Wentzel Attorneys to be very good at what they do making anyone seeking legal help want to seek them out. It gets the persons in legal trouble, to feel like they can win the case, by showing the kill strike on the opponent.
So in conclusion to my little analysis of this great ad that stuck with my on the drive home, even driving me to search for it on the interweb and use it as my example, speaks for itself. But I will speak for myself saying that I really dig this ad and I aspire to create ads like this one and even better ones.
