This is my opinion on opinions.

I was asked a question, “do you have any enemies?” to which I responded, “what do you mean? I don’t think people conspire to make my life hell. Too much effort and I’m likable enough” he said, “No, are there people who don’t like you?” Well of course everyone has go someone they don’t like and someone who doesn’t like them but that made me think.

If I could please everyone around me and agree with notion people open their mouths with, I would be quite a boring fellow and a lair. Id have no opinion on anything. Imagine if everyone agreed with everyone else. There’d be no forward, progressive thinking.  Humanity would probably exist in a lull with no excitement. Not to mention all the shit people would get away with. Many people have little to no morals at all but there are people with morals who stand up for what they believe in and this alone will stimulate opinion.

People react differently to the same thing.  Perception is everything. The other day I saw a car nearly kill two people, a man and a woman. The woman stepped back apologetically, with her hands up in pray at the driver while the man was aggressive and unforgiving, he threatened the driver. This was our ‘fight or flight’ instinct at work but it was interesting to see how the two people reacted in completely opposite ways to the same incident.

Imagine the shit people have to deal with dished out by other people who are in a position of ‘power’ but would react aggressively to the situation. The magistrate of the family court for instance, someone whose word could change the lives of entire families, so he studied law, how does he know what’s good for the children? In a system motivated by money and not love, the result of which is people with no moral fiber. It’s like the idea of jailing someone for doing something wrong, putting them in an environment created man, an environment that kills the human spirit, surrounded by bad influences all day every day and expecting that the someone in question to come out of that system ‘rehabilitated’. It’s a farce and far from the truth.

I think the problem is that the issues are taken at face value, no one ever bothers to dig deeper than the surface and people are deeply affected by this. There are many issues people carry around with them everyday, I think only time can heal some of the wounded hearts, time and love from everyone else. That being said, I think that it is these issues that make life interesting, the challenge of dealing with someone who reacts differently than you do. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and everyone should have one.  “A man who doesn’t think for himself doesn’t think at all”-Oscar Wilde.

She loves me, She loves me not.

Relationships are quite a touchy subject to most people. Co-dependency is everywhere and most people are completely unaware of it. The poor souls on this planet walking around needing someone else’s approval to enjoy life or in fact live at all. Emotions are an incredibly controlling force; learning to master them is a life lesson.  All rational thought flies out the window when your emotions take over. People have done some seriously stupid and/or amazing things when the power of love pulls the veil over your eyes. That’s why they say love is blind. Obsession forces you to focus on one thing and forget everything else.

It is very romantic for you’re significant other to say. “Oh baby, you fulfill me” in that moment it might seem like the right thing to say, however, what this does is put pressure on you and your loved one. Pressure to always fulfill until you wake up one day and forget who you are. Then you try to be yourself again, this is when you’re told, “you’ve really changed”.

Too many relationships are simply entered into for the wrong reasons. “What can I get out of this” is the agenda of most parties involved, feeling that initial sexual energy rushing into things, this is a recipe for failure. The right mindset should be “what can I put into this, how can I enrich his/her life”. I think the point of relationships is to share each other’s completeness, not complete each other. Nowhere else can you more immediately experience who you really are than in relationships.  Your relationship with your loved ones, family, friends, pets, my relationship with my keyboard right now lets me glimpse into my psyche.

With this type of thought going forward, I think you have to be self-centered. Sounds conceited I know but think about it. Center yourself on yourself. It’s not what the other is doing, thinking or feeling. It’s about how you react to how the other is doing, thinking or feeling. You have the power of choice; you can choose to think from a place of love or a place of fear. You are the master of your world, thoughts are your slaves, emotions are amplified thoughts, helping your realize your mind.

“Know thyself” the cornerstone of any spiritual teaching. You cannot love anyone else if you don’t love yourself.

Freedom

What is freedom?  What is revolution? What is the point of people giving their lives for a cause that doesn’t even exist? A blogger in Egypt got sentenced to three years in prison for writing about the truth of the situation. He wrote, “We have removed the dictator but not the dictatorship” not only has his physical freedom been taken away but his freedom of thought also. He is an example to anyone who would dare think for him or herself. Prison awaits you should you have an opinion.

That is just one example of freedoms being taken away when one disagrees with the system that is in place. People are way to sensitive about a lot of things. I think you have to live life with a lot of salt, just a pinch won’t do. There are so many people on our planet, every one of them with their own thoughts their own problems and their own solutions.  What works for you might not work for me and that’s okay.

I don’t get why people judge other people so harshly about things that are so small. I mean life is short. We all live and die the same , we bleed and cry the same. People are people but some of us think we’re better than others. That’s what gets to me. I’m not easily irritated with anything but that really does get under my skin. I realize that I have the freedom to choose to hate or forgive these people that irritate me and choice I make could be the story of my life. I could walk down a path filled with hate surrounded by people who feel the same and make the same choices, but I choose love. The people that get to me have the freedom to and I wont put them in prison for making me feel however it is I feel when they turn their lips to legs and run their mounts.

I think the ultimate freedom is within your mind. You have the freedom to choose to love or hate and no one will be able to take that away from you. Your mind can be indoctrinated but never imprisoned. You will still be able to realize and make changes to your life.

Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy

I have been reading the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. The book started off quite strong, I was interested and excited to read it everyday. Douglas Adams is an intelligent man and it shows in the way he writes, his style is very childish though and I find myself force reading through some sections.

Arthur Dent is the main character an unfortunate Englishman, he has an alien friend Ford Prefect from somewhere in the vicinity of Betelgeuse, Arthur does not know this however and when the Vogon battle fleet come to destroy earth to create a hyperspace by-pass, Ford is the one who saves Arthur by hitching a ride on one of the starship destroyers. With no home planet to live on and being cast into the vacuum of space after being discovered by the Vogons, hitchhikers guide to the galaxy becomes a story of high adventure into new worlds and undiscovered imagination.

Douglas Adams has an uncanny sarcastic sense of humor that reveals itself differently in every character of the book and you become quite accustomed to it. Probably part of the reason I had to force read through parts of it as it is predicable, the book goes through phases of excitement and suspense, he keeps you reading by telling fragments of the plot at a time almost like a sitcom or a soap. The way he thinks about time and space is like a wannabe cosmologist with a sense humor.

The hitchhikers guide consists of six novels all in all, the scripts originated as a radio show performed by Adams himself in 1978 called 'The ends of the earth' a six episode show, which resulted in the earths destruction every time. Later Adams needed an alien on the planet to provide context and a reason for him to be there. Thus the hitchhikers guide was born, as Ford Perfect is the alien a roving researcher for the guide.

It has an interesting history and it evolved out of a drunkard explorer (Adams being in Greece lying drunk on his back staring at the stars with a hitchhikers guide to Europe) and the idea was born. It has grown to become a multimillion rand blockbuster and a bookshelf favorite. I enjoyed the book as a light read and an escape, otherwise it’s a waste of time!

opinion? i think not!

The world (as we know it) is coming to an end!  Change is the only constant. So the world is constantly ending, making way for new beginnings. The theories are a dime a dozen. Literally, church wants your pennies, programming your thoughts. Media shows you what they want you to see. School teaches you what they what you to know.

The question is who are the ominous ‘they’? Some say ‘they’ are the Illuminati, which means the illuminated ones, the enlightened ones. Do they know something we don’t? If ‘they’ exist at all. Some say the Free Masons are in charge. Which is weird because the Free Masons where the ‘police force’ for Illuminati enslaving people. Crusading the word of god killing all those who thought for themselves.

That was then however and this is now. Today I can choose what to believe. I can walk into a Synagogue or a Mosque or the church of Scientology and engage in Dianetics and get myself audited. Madness! We have access to more information in one newspaper than they got in a lifetime in the 1950s.

We have the power of choice. We can create our own destinies. The alignment of the stars empowers us even more.  The astrological changes taking place is what’s really causing all this excitement around 2012.  Our solar system is moving into what you call a Photon Belt. It’s a belt of stars encircling the planet Alcyone. These stars are affecting the very fibers of our existence. Our vibrations are rising.  Our consciousness is moving up the dimensional plains. The dormant DNA in our bodies is about to be awakened.  We will ascend our current states and no longer be Human beings, we will become Human Doings.

Human history is riddled with deceit and control beyond our imaginings. We have been made slaves of body, working for near no pay, slaves of our minds, made to believe that if you don’t adhere to the ‘word of god’ you will be sent to a place of eternal pain and hate and despair for the rest of time. But ‘he’ loves you.

It does not matter though. Our minds are awakening. We are becoming aware of ourselves.  All the manifested fear and hate in the world will become meaningless. It’s not my opinion. I know the world is changing. And 2012 is a catalyst of cataclysmic proportions.

Live love life.

Suka Suka

A smokeless world. Imagine that. All the clean air you could ever want. Head rushes from fresh air. The littering of stompies is everywhere! And they stink! They make my eyes sore and my nose cringe. You could write an infinite list of cons when it comes to sucking smoke into your lungs and zero pros. It also touches on the need to constantly have something in your mouth. I don’t know how that fits in but it is part of the equation. The perception of it being cool is a farce. No one is going to suffer but you.  Enough of the negative though, lets let that go like a puff of smoke.

You can still be to cool for school without smoking. As demonstrated here, the characters are probably students bunking class.  Walking the streets alone. Unless you’re new in town or socially awkward, you would have friends around you come weekend. I understand though, if my face had a stick coming out of it and my head was oddly shaped I would probably also be alone bunking class.

I think it’s cool that they have a guy and a girl, almost finding a common thread between us because g0d knows we clash like the titans also I like the way they made the characters look, almost cartoon like but real. It appeals to me and I think it will appeal to people like me. I mean I went and bought a sucker from Wasfie when I saw this ad. It was a fizz pop but I was still persuaded to get one. The fact that it was a fizz pop and not a chupa chups means that this ad works even better than it’s meant to.

I somehow have an emotional connection to the characters in these ads, maybe it’s just because I have been staring at them for the past two hours. It feels like there are outstretched arms willing to embrace the loner in me. That’s the main reason I think these ads work so well. They depict the person in all of us. And gives us a hug.

bluddy Burritoz

These are disgusting ads. The way they look revolt me. The visual on this ad says to me filthy people who like to live in pigsty eat these Burritos. I feel like the pay off line could have had more of an encouraging finish. I suppose to the regular drunkard it would relate. I however like my dignity.  I might be treading on thin ice here but I know that humans are lazy creatures that only worry about their immediate surroundings.  Generalizations are dangerous but in the ad game they sometimes have to be made.  These ads demonstrate that generalization.  The dollar notes cropping out of the purse is a clear indicator as to what type of people we are dealing with here.  Dirty Americans!  Hahahaha I don’t mean to be mean but it’s a funny stereotype and these ads seem to be playing on it.

As for Sunday morning ritual, I kind of feel like IV missed out actually. None of these scenes have been seen through my eyes. Maybe I need to party harder! Iv been hung-over, pounding kop-seer, dry mouth, spinning world and I cant imagine myself wanting to eat that nasty looking thing especially because it’s on the floor. It does have a singled minded proposition (unlike me right now) in the sense that you need to eat something in the morning (every morning) when you’re hung-over.

All in all, these ads are a fail. They fail to persuade me to do anything burrito related. They do however motivate me to be a cleaner person, as I personally would hate to wake up to a mess like that. To be fair to the creators, they are aiming this towards American party animals (animals being the operative word).
There is a place for Burritos, just not in my tummy but I’m sure it’ll find its way into somebodies tummy.

There is a market for anything; you just need to identify it. There’s a market for chocolate covered cockroaches and the people selling them are rich! So go Burritos go!
