Freedom

What is freedom?  What is revolution? What is the point of people giving their lives for a cause that doesn’t even exist? A blogger in Egypt got sentenced to three years in prison for writing about the truth of the situation. He wrote, “We have removed the dictator but not the dictatorship” not only has his physical freedom been taken away but his freedom of thought also. He is an example to anyone who would dare think for him or herself. Prison awaits you should you have an opinion.

That is just one example of freedoms being taken away when one disagrees with the system that is in place. People are way to sensitive about a lot of things. I think you have to live life with a lot of salt, just a pinch won’t do. There are so many people on our planet, every one of them with their own thoughts their own problems and their own solutions.  What works for you might not work for me and that’s okay.

I don’t get why people judge other people so harshly about things that are so small. I mean life is short. We all live and die the same , we bleed and cry the same. People are people but some of us think we’re better than others. That’s what gets to me. I’m not easily irritated with anything but that really does get under my skin. I realize that I have the freedom to choose to hate or forgive these people that irritate me and choice I make could be the story of my life. I could walk down a path filled with hate surrounded by people who feel the same and make the same choices, but I choose love. The people that get to me have the freedom to and I wont put them in prison for making me feel however it is I feel when they turn their lips to legs and run their mounts.

I think the ultimate freedom is within your mind. You have the freedom to choose to love or hate and no one will be able to take that away from you. Your mind can be indoctrinated but never imprisoned. You will still be able to realize and make changes to your life.

  1. This is quite well written. It just needs some more concrete examples. Too much abstraction and you lose the reader's attention. Give me an example (for example) about how people judge each other in petty ways? This will make your writing more interesting to read. 65
